SALES ENGINEERING MANAGER
ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS
OUR CLIENT: Our client is one of world's leading designers, manufacturers and marketers of wired and wireless products
related to signal transmission for data networking, industrial automation, enterprise, transportation, infrastructure,
professional audio and video and other specialty electronic markets. They are soon to be a $2B company with 7,000 employees and manufacturing capabilities in North America, Asia and Europe. Their market presence is truly global with strong brands and financial strength.
THE POSITION: As the SALES ENGINEERING MANAGER you will be part of the Enterprise Solutions Division reporting to the VP.
In this role you will be part of the sales organization. However your team will be highly technical sales oriented people who are subject matter experts and handle the pre-sales closing. They see business opportunities, cultivate them and drive the application to fruition.
Specifically you'll be responsible for . . .
*leading a team of 5 Sales Engineers through the design, costing, proposal and transition of technical solutions that solve customer needs and in support the Enterprise market sector in driving $350M in revenue for VSS, Networking, and Wireless.
* Develop and coordination of contractor and end-user training programs.
* Also acts as an advocate and point of contact for sales teams to drive technical sales engineering engagements, and to ensure timely coordination on new projects and/or product opportunities.
* This manager is responsible for the evaluation and development of Sales Engineers and leverages the Sales Engineering team to ensure technical competence and to drive demand of the product through demonstration, pre-sales and on-site technical support, and customer training.
* This position also acts as a resource for escalation of both pre- and post-sales issues for Enterprise customers.
* The Sales Engineering Manager coordinates and communicates closely with regional sales and marketing personnel.
* Communication with Product Line Management/Marketing on new product opportunities acting as an interface for product development and roll-out.

* Management of expenses to budget.
* Achievement of sales targets for assigned region or product line.
* Coordination and implementation of account strategies with sales personnel, including training, end user and channel
account discussion and planning.
* Development of channel partners from a technical perspective to support and drive revenue for product line.
* Development and coordination of customer training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Haves:
* a BS Engineering (Electronics or Electrical is preferred). Will also consider another degree or equivalent experience IF the employment record is stable, the product experience is a strong match and there is a strong history of accomplishment.
* 5+ years of recent field sales/systems engineering experience or similar role involving technical products related to the enterprise connectivity field. This will include a proven track record of problem solving for internal and external customers.
* knowledge of wired networking systems and infrastructure
* experience in working with distribution channels
* 2+ years of technical management and leadership experience
* expected to have good interpersonal skills
* a get it done, no excuses personality but with a strong customer focus and underlying professional polish
* open to location but need to be able to operate from a home office and live in proximity to a major airport
* legally able to work in the USA without visa sponsorship
