JOB SCOPE
Responsible, under the direction of the VP engineering for ensuring that products and services meet the required quality standards, by planning, coordinating and controlling the design and development of new, or modification of existing, product lines to meet actual or anticipated future customer needs. This position is one of the main points of contact between the sales teams who determine the product requirements and the manufacturing plant who make the product in line with the design parameters determined by engineering.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and coordinate activities of Engineering Department in regard to design, manufacturing and testing of products.
Plan and formulate aspects of engineering work, such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and manpower requirements.
Review and analyze proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
Approve and submit proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds or allocate funds from department budget.
Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project.
Provide direction on technical projects including selection, technology and design.
Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials.
Management of technical personnel within local Engineering department.
With assistance of HR, recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Good written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of oilfield industry in multiple segments
Proven innovator
Good management skills such as holding personnel reviews, organized work, scheduling and costing with accuracy
Exhibit leadership and make effective, reliable and appropriate decisions and judgments without supervision or assistance
Ability to work well with all levels of personnel
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
5-10 years engineering experience
B.S degree in engineering or engineering technology
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Essential
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
