Job Description:

ITs a network Logo
The Category Manager is responsible for the assigned merchandise categories and will be responsible for product acquisition while attaining budgeted sales, gross margin, inventory levels, service levels, P&L, and ROCC. This position will report directly to the Director of Merchandising.

Ideal candidates will be innovative, self-motivated, experienced professionals who possess the following qualifications and experience:

 Four year degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance or similar field

 Advanced degree preferred

 APICS, CPM or other industry related certification desirable

 2 – 3 years of prior purchasing, planning, forecasting or analytical experience preferably in a product based wholesale distribution environment

 Effective negotiation, organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills; outstanding business acumen, initiative and presentation skills

 Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and make recommendation based on data

 Ability to communicate information both verbally and in written form to external and internal customers

 Excellent PC skills, including a proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge industry software programs such as E3, AS400, etc.

 Possession of strong customer service and vendor relation orientation

 Ability to travel nationwide to vendors, customers, industry trade shows and events up to 10% of time.
