About Us:
aSalesNetwork merges two ideas; Job boards and social networks. Online social networks have changed the way people congregate online. Combining a professional social network with a job board gives Members the ability to build or expand their professional network of peers and the ability to communicate and interact in ways not possible before.

aSalesNetwork also solves a common problem for employers. Employers typically get thousands of responses to jobs that are publicly posted that then have to be sorted through or data mined. Members on this site have the option to endorse one another. It is the combined effect of all endorsements across the entire community that gives us the information to generate community rank. In effect, community rank is the combined knowledge of the entire professional social network. Employers can then use community rank to sort member profiles they receive.

Members will be able to take advantage of the following tools:

Member Profile

Once you become a member, a default Member Profile page will be generated containing the information that you provided. You will have the option of modifying the Profile to reflect your own personal tastes. Your Profile will be a tool to help you in your job search and will be, in a sense, an advertisement about you to possible employers. Its content will be created by you and could include important information about yourself, work history, and desired career paths.

Social/Professional/Career Networking

Your Member Profile will be your portal to networking. You will have the option of browsing other Member profiles using various tools on the site. If you wish, you may officially endorse other Members. This has the effect of placing a link to that Member Profile onto your Profile. It also will affect your community rank in a positive way. Other Members may also endorse you.

Messaging

There will be various ways for the member community to communicate. Members may send each other public and private messages.

Community Rank

There is a community rank calculated for each Member. The higher your rank is, the better, with 10 being the best rank. Community rank is the determining factor in sorting potential job candidates when an employer uses aSalesNetwork to search for people. Thus, your rank is important. Community rank is calculated using a straight forward method.

Search for Jobs

This option is the more traditional online way for you to seek out employment. Members may search through aSalesNetwork’s database for jobs. Searches may be done by keyword, category, or location.

Apply for Jobs

After searching for and selecting a job from our database, your Member Profile will be submitted for review to the employer who posted the job. The employer will then view your Member Profile before deciding to proceed.

Employer Searches

Once you have your Member Profile up, employers may seek you out on their own. Employers will have the option of searching for Member Profiles by keyword, category, location, etc. The final determining factor in sorting through possible candidate matches will be community rank.

About Community Rank:
Community ranks range from 1 to 10. All Members begin with a community rank of 1.

Community rank is a number that represents your Member Profile’s relative importance in the community. Your relative importance is measured by your place in the community’s professional social network as defined by endorsements.

Community rank is competitive. Only one Member in the entire community will have a rank that approaches 10. Currently 10.000 is theoretically unachievable.

It is easier to raise your community rank when it is low. As your community rank increases, it becomes exponentially more difficult to gain more.

Community rank is updated every 2 hours.

Tips for Increasing Community Rank

Be active in the community by endorsing others. Use the Build Rank link at the bottom of this page and the member search feature in the Members area to search for profiles. When you find a profile that you believe is of high quality, make an endorsement.

After making an endorsement, browse though the members at the bottom of that profile. A strong network consists of more than 2 people.

Receive endorsements from others. Receiving endorsements always increases your community rank.

If a Member endorsing you is also endorsed by you, your community rank will be increased even further. This is a mutually beneficial relationship in terms of community rank.

Stay active. Since your community rank is relative to all other Members on the site, if you have been away for awhile, your rank may have dropped. This is possible if others in the community have significantly increased their ranks while you were away.

Highest Rank

Receiving the highest community rank will only be achieved by one person and thus will be a difficult goal to aspire to. Attaining that goal is also not necessary. Employers will do narrow searches. So an example of a more attainable goal may be to be in the top 10 electrical engineers in the Chicago area for instance. When an employer searches for Members using those categories, only those Members will be returned -- sorted by community rank.
